While needing an electrician is never something to look forward too … , should the need arise Haines Electricians are absolutely the best! I’ve been using Haines for over 50 years and they have never failed to impress me with their professionalism! A great family business.
Great workers: competent and personable
Great job excellent.
A lot of times, when you read reviews, you wonder whether they're genuine. In this case, I can confidently say this one is. I met Rich and his team at E.H. Haines Electric when I called them for some work on my pool. From the start, they were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They arrived when they said they would, completed the job efficiently, and delivered exactly what they promised. I needed Rich to come back a few times for follow-up items, which he graciously did without hesitation. The best way to describe Rich and his company is that they do what they say they're going to do, when they say they're going to do it. I highly recommend Rich and his team at E.H. Haines Electric for any electrical needs. Their professionalism, reliability, and commitment to customer service are truly outstanding.
This is the second time Mike has serviced my house . In every way , his professionalism and his workmanship were of the highest quality. And it is always a pleasure to deal with a thoughtful and kind individual, and Mike is that type of person. He represents the quality of a Haines Electric Company’s experience.
They were excellent 10 out of 10 very professional and reasonable will definitely use them again and they were on time
I am thrilled with the service that Haines Electric provided. I recently purchased a new stove w/convection-electric oven that required a 220 line, which I did not realize when I purchased it. I learned that I needed a new line behind the stove when the plumber was there to install the appliance and hook up the gas. Suffice it to say I was aggravated with myself for not knowing more about what I was buying, but the responsiveness of Haines to get to us as soon as they did in that week, determine the scope of the work and return to complete it within a few days really turned things around for me and this new, significant investment. They are very courteous and highly skilled providers and I highly recommend them.
Rich and Mike from EH Haines Electric Corp did outstanding work for us in our garage and yard. They were punctual, professional, detail-oriented, and the quality of the work was excellent from start to finish. It’s refreshing to work with honest, friendly people who clearly take pride in what they do — highly recommend them.
We’ve used Haines twice so far and will continue to use them for all of our electrical needs. They’re professional, knowledgeable and have very fair pricing. It’s a pleasure to do business with them and to recommend them.

Our Repair Process

How Haines Electric Diagnoses Electrical Problems

Electrical repairs should not be guesswork. Our process is built around finding the actual cause of the issue, explaining the repair clearly, and making sure your home or business is safe before the job is complete.

01

Listen to the Problem

We start with what you are experiencing, such as tripping breakers, flickering lights, dead outlets, buzzing, burning smells, or power loss.

02

Inspect the System

We check the affected outlet, switch, fixture, circuit, breaker, wiring, or electrical panel to narrow down the issue.

03

Find the Cause

We identify whether the issue is caused by a device failure, overloaded circuit, loose connection, panel problem, or wiring concern.

04

Explain the Repair

Before moving forward, we explain what we found, what needs to be repaired, and whether a larger electrical upgrade should be considered.

05

Complete the Work

Our licensed electricians complete the approved repair safely, cleanly, and with attention to long-term reliability.

Safety first: If you smell burning, see sparks, hear crackling, or have a breaker that keeps tripping immediately, stop using the affected area and schedule professional service.
Repair vs. Replacement

Can the Problem Be Repaired, or Is Something Else Going On?

Not every electrical problem requires replacing equipment. In many cases, a licensed electrician can repair the affected component and safely restore power. Other times, recurring problems may indicate that your electrical panel or wiring system is reaching its limits.

Electrical Problem Often Repaired May Require More
Dead outlet Outlet replacement or wiring repair Only if larger wiring issues are found
Breaker trips occasionally Circuit diagnosis or breaker replacement If multiple circuits are overloaded
Breaker won't reset Diagnosis of breaker or circuit Panel repair may be recommended
Lights flicker throughout the home Connection or circuit repair Panel or service evaluation
Buzzing electrical panel Possible panel repair Panel replacement if unsafe
No room for additional breakers Panel upgrade or new panel installation

Repair Is Often the Right Choice

Many electrical issues can be corrected by replacing a breaker, repairing wiring, replacing an outlet, fixing a switch, or tightening damaged connections. We'll always recommend the simplest safe solution first.

Sometimes We Recommend an Upgrade

If your electrical panel is outdated, overloaded, damaged, or no longer capable of supporting your home's electrical demand, we'll explain why a panel repair, installation, or upgrade may be the safer long-term investment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Electrical Repairs

Get answers to common questions about electrical problems, troubleshooting, repair timelines, and when to call a licensed electrician in Nassau County.

What kinds of electrical problems do you repair?

Haines Electric handles a wide range of residential electrical repairs in Nassau County, including flickering lights, dead outlets, tripping breakers, partial power loss, faulty switches, damaged wiring, overloaded circuits, and panel-related issues.

If something in your home is not working properly or does not feel safe, a licensed electrician can inspect the issue and determine the right repair.

When should I call an electrician for electrical repairs?

You should call an electrician any time you notice signs of an electrical problem, especially if you have burning smells, buzzing sounds, warm outlets, flickering lights, repeated breaker trips, or outlets and switches that stop working.

Electrical problems can worsen over time and may create safety hazards if ignored, so it is best to have them checked as soon as possible.

Why do my breakers keep tripping?

Breakers usually trip when a circuit is overloaded or when there is an electrical fault. This can happen if too many high-demand appliances are running on the same circuit, or if there is a problem with the wiring, breaker, or panel.

Frequent breaker trips are a sign that your system should be evaluated by a licensed electrician.

Can you diagnose why half my house lost power?

Yes. If half your house loses power, the cause may involve a utility issue, a failing electrical panel, a loose connection, or damage within the home’s wiring. This type of issue often requires professional troubleshooting because the source is not always visible.

Haines Electric can inspect the system, test the panel, and determine whether the issue is internal, service-related, or utility-related.

How long do electrical repairs usually take?

Repair times depend on the issue. Some minor repairs, such as replacing an outlet or switch, may be completed quickly, while larger problems involving wiring, circuits, or electrical panels may take longer.

After diagnosing the problem, your electrician can explain what needs to be done and what timeline to expect.

Are electrical repairs dangerous to ignore?

Yes. Electrical issues can pose serious safety risks if left unresolved. Problems such as overheating wires, loose connections, failing breakers, and damaged outlets can increase the risk of electrical shock, equipment damage, or fire.

If you notice warning signs, it is best to have a licensed electrician inspect the issue right away.
